Cave painting in Year 3

Have you ever tried to paint using just a stick? It's harder than you think!

This week, Year 3 tried to recreate the techniques used by Stone Age people to create their wonderful cave paintings.

They learnt that people in the Stone Age had no written language and used their paintings to send messages, record and celebrate events (especially successful hunts) and just for fun!

Using only some sticks and earth-coloured paints, they had a go at creating their own cave paintings. They also investigated the different marks made by different sized sticks.

This looks like a lot of fun. Well done Year 3.
